The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced by the Government of India, seeks to modernize the education system by aligning it with global standards and addressing critical challenges in education (Government of India, 2020). This policy focuses on inclusivity, skill development, and holistic learning, promoting a paradigm shift from rote memorization to critical thinking and interdisciplinary approaches (Kumar & Gupta, 2021). However, the successful implementation of NEP 2020 is hindered by several challenges, including resource constraints, lack of standardized teacher training, and infrastructural deficiencies (Banerjee, 2022). This study investigates the opportunities and challenges of NEP 2020, specifically in its application within schools. Using a mixed-method approach, including surveys and interviews with educators, the research evaluates the policy’s practical impact on teaching methodologies, student engagement, and learning outcomes. The findings provide insights into the policy’s potential while highlighting areas requiring immediate attention to ensure its success.
