Expectations Of Generation Z Regarding Working Hours

This study aims to understand the expectations of Generation Z regarding working hours and analyze the impact of these expectations on workplace practices. Generation Z typically consists of individuals born between 1999 and 2011, who have grown up in the digital age and are well-adapted to technology. Unlike previous generations, this cohort challenges traditional work models and rigid job arrangements, seeking a balance between work-life harmony and individual freedom. Generation Z considers technology an integral part of their lives and expects to maintain these habits in their professional lives. The primary objective of this research is to comprehend this generation's tendencies toward flexible, remote, and personalized work models and to evaluate the implications of these tendencies on employer policies. The research findings reveal that Generation Z is moving away from traditional fixed working hours and leaning toward flexible and remote work models. 82% of participants indicated that customizing working hours according to individual needs positively impacts job satisfaction. Furthermore, flexible work models support work-life balance and enhance employee motivation. In conclusion, Generation Z individuals have fundamental expectations in the workplace, such as a search for meaning, individual freedom, and technological integration. Adopting work models that align with these demands will increase job satisfaction and productivity, providing a more sustainable work environment.
